Follow-up methods

The basic method of Follow up is by repeat Low Dose Screening CT

Lung Nodules are characterized by solid or ground glass in appearance, by size, and by whether the nodule has been previously seen by CT.

Negative CT or a nodule that is small is at lower risk, and LDCT yearly is sufficient.

Larger nodules or nodules that may have grown are reevaluated more often, the interval is determined by size and by characteristics.

Patients with nodules that are determined to be suspicious are referred for additional evaluation other than low dose screening CT. (see Evaluation Methods)
